This may seem like a strange thing to say in Septemeber yet, for many people, this is anew year. After a pacxked summer, when it rained all the time, we have come to the start of another year's work. All the organisations are starting up again. If you feel you would like to make a contribution to the life of the congrgeation by volunteering your help for something please let it be known.
With the start of a new session we want to begin on the right foot by taking some time to pray together. From Sunday at 6.30pm and then each night from Monday at 7.30pm we are going to meet to spend some time in God's presence.
If you can come you will be ver welcome and you can sit quietly or you can bring verbal prayers- no one will be expected to do anything but we weant to take time to allow God to speak to us and to let him change our minds on the problems we have. C.S Lewis said that prayer did not change God's minbd but it changed ours. I think this is true, he knows best. We cannot understand God just because he is God, we cannot put him in a box of our choosing-if we coudl He would not be God at all.
This is also the start of a new web site for the congrgeation and we would be pleased for you to use it to express some of your good ideas for the site but also for the life of the congregation together. We will also try to keep you informed as to what is happening in the congregation from week to week-so if you are onnholiday or you are an old friend or you are away for a while why not log on and see what's what??
Let's start the year with a determination to do our best for God's kingdom. There is much in the world to be sad about, much in our congrgeatiuon to weep about but lets take our tears to the throne of god who knows what is best for us and has promised to be there for us. He will never leave us nor will he forsake us. Thats al for now. Happy New year
